Delete Your Account & Data
Last updated: June 17, 2026
1. Overview
Cakepop (operated by WhoTheFolk, LLC — “Cakepop,” “we,” “us”) lets you delete your account and the personal information associated with it at any time. You can do this yourself from the web or the Cakepop mobile app, or — if you can no longer sign in — by emailing us. This page explains each path, what gets removed, what we’re required to keep, and how long it takes.
2. Delete your account yourself (recommended)
If you can sign in, deleting your account takes effect immediately:
On the web
- Sign in and go to Account Settings (cakepop.io/settings).
- Scroll to the “Delete account” section at the bottom of the page.
- Select Delete account and confirm in the dialog.
In the Cakepop mobile app (iOS & Android)
- Open the app and go to your Profile tab.
- Open Account settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Confirming permanently deletes your account and removes your personal information. This cannot be undone.
3. Can’t sign in? Request deletion by email
If you’ve lost access to your account, email privacy@cakepop.io from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed, to protect you from someone else requesting deletion on your behalf. Once verified, we delete the account on your behalf.
4. What is deleted and what is retained
Deleted or anonymized. Your personal information — name, email address, phone number, profile photo, saved preferences, and device push-notification tokens — is permanently removed or irreversibly anonymized so it can no longer be linked to you. Your sign-in credentials are invalidated and you will be signed out of every device.
Retained in de-identified form. Records of past transactions — orders, payments, and issued or transferred tickets — are retained in a de-identified form because we are required to keep them for financial, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal-compliance purposes, and to honor event organizers’ records. After deletion you will no longer have access to these records or to any unused tickets.
5. How long it takes
Self-service deletion (web or app) takes effect immediately. Deletion requests submitted by email are processed within 30 days of our verifying your request, consistent with our Privacy Policy. Backups that contain de-identified records are rotated out on our normal retention schedule.
6. Questions
