SMS Program Terms

1. Overview
Cakepop (operated by WhoTheFolk, LLC — “Cakepop,” “we,” “us”) uses SMS in two transactional only ways. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS, and we do not send order, ticket, or newsletter messages by SMS (those are sent by email):
- Verification codes you request. A short, one-time code sent when you ask for one (for example, to confirm ownership of your phone number, or to satisfy a step-up authentication requirement). See sections 2–6 below.
- Customer-support replies. Cakepop publishes a “Call or Text” support line, (888) 388-CAKE ((888) 388-2253). If you text that number, you consent to receive customer-support text messages from Cakepop in reply. It is a two-way support conversation that you start — message frequency varies with your conversation, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time.
2. How to opt in
Consent is collected at a single point in the product: the account settings page at https://cakepop.io/settings. The flow is:
- You enter your mobile phone number and review the consent disclosure shown below the input.
- You click the “Send Code” button.
- You receive a one-time SMS containing a six-digit verification code.
- You enter that code back into the verification field to complete sign-up.
This two-step flow — phone-number submission followed by code entry — establishes both possession of the phone number and affirmative consent. The verification code SMS reads:
Your Cakepop verification code is: 123456
On successful first verification, we send a single confirmation SMS:
Cakepop: You’re signed up for verification codes. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.
3. Consent disclosure shown at the point of opt-in
The following disclosure appears directly above the “Send Code” button on the account settings page, before any phone number is submitted:
By providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS verification codes from Cakepop. Message frequency varies (typically only when you request a code). Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, or STOP to cancel at any time.
4. Message frequency
Frequency varies. You will typically receive a verification SMS only when you actively request one (for example, when adding or changing your phone number, or when a workflow requires phone-based step-up verification). We do not send recurring or scheduled SMS through this program.
5. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, per the terms of your wireless carrier plan. Cakepop does not charge you a fee to send or receive SMS in connection with this program.
6. How to opt out or get help
You can opt out of the SMS verification program at any time by replying with any of the following keywords to a message you received from Cakepop: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. We will send a one-time confirmation that opt-out has been processed, and you will not receive any further SMS through this program.
For help, reply HELP or INFO to any message you received from us. You can also text or call (888) 388-CAKE ((888) 388-2253) or email support@cakepop.io for support.
7. Data sharing
Mobile opt-in data — including your phone number, opt-in status, and opt-out preferences — is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or any other purpose. This data is used solely to send the transactional verification codes you request, to honor STOP and HELP keyword responses, and to maintain the integrity of the verification program. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.
8. Carrier and program identifiers
This program operates on a registered 10DLC phone number provisioned through AWS End User Messaging. Inbound SMS keywords (HELP / STOP / etc.) are handled automatically by the Cakepop platform.
